What is a Gasfitter?
Gasfitters work on natural gas or propane equipment ranging from residential furnaces to industrial boilers.
In Calgary, all installations or modifications to a natural gas system requires a permit. The work must be completed by an Alberta Certified Journeyman Gasfitter. For more information on Plumbing & Gas Permits, click here.
A gasfitter determines the size and type of gas pipe to use for each job. Pipe is measured, cut and threaded using specialty equipment. Gasfitters also install vents and flues for natural gas appliances.
